Komen Race and Team KMOX
(posted June 22, 2008)
I am not sure I have ever been part of such a huge mass of humanity before! It was truly a sight to see tens of thousands of people pouring through the streets of downtown St. Louis. The sheer number though made it tough for Team KMOX to gather together at the start and then slowly, our team was swallowed up in the crowd until Mark Reardon and I were walking together...

Get Healthy and Lose Weight with Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating!
I have always secretly had no sympathy for famous people (Hollywood types, singers, models, etc.) with weight problems. After all, I would think, they can afford to hire someone to cook them perfectly-proportioned, calorie-counted meals.

Looking For A Good Book? Check Out My Updated List!!
(Posted 04/02/08)

I am always hunting for a good book to read, so I'm happy to share a list of books I've read over the past six months or so that I really enjoyed. I'd love any feedback, too, if you read one or if you have a title toshare! (dcmonterrey@cbs.com)

Engrossing read about Jack St. Bride—a teacher whose life is turned
Getting Healthy and Fit
I’m currently working my way back to being on the sunny side of healthy and fit. For a few years, I’ve let a surgery and a nagging injury knock me off my fitness track and I don’t like the results! Exercise cannot be put off until you have time. Because you will never have time!
Another Connection to Tower Grove Park
It's no secret to Total Information AM listeners that I love Tower Grove Park. It's the only park in the area that is a National Historic Landmark (only four parks in the USA have that designation) and hundreds of people work tirelessly to keep its Victorian charm going in a new century.
The Kite Runner: The Book Vs. The Movie
The Kite Runner by Khalid Husseini is the kind of book you read and then spend several months trying to get everyone else you know to read it too.
My New England Vacation
We missed peak leaf season by a week, but regardless, my fall foliage tour with Holiday Vacations and KMOX listeners was a blast, with beautiful scenery, great food and wonderful company.
Stray Rescue: A Decade of Saving Lives
I almost went home with a new dog after Randy Grimm, founder of Stray Rescue, arrived in Studio B with an adorable puppy.
Great Things on South Grand! (Including free food)
My beautiful South City neighborhood just gets better and better! The 2007 Festival of Nations August 25-26 drew a record crowd of 80,000 visitors to Tower Grove Park! The International Institute did a fantastic job organizing it and the sheer amount of nationalities represented was impressive. MORE
Debbie's Book List
If you love to read as much as I do, you probably are constantly asking people if they’ve read any good books lately and if they have any recommendations! Here is a list of some books I’ve read this summer that I really enjoyed.
Elvis the Dog (1991-2007): A Tribute to a Best Friend
Elvis the Dog (1991-2007) A Tribute to a Best Friend   On July 10, 2007, I did one of the most difficult things I have ever done in my life. My husband and I put our beloved dog Elvis to sleep. It was something we had agonized over and procrastinated about for months. But finally we had to ask ourselves whether we were delaying for Elvis’ sake or our own.   We took Elvis to
Alaska - The Inside Passage
What better way to beat the St. Louis summer heat than to take a cruise through the inside passage of Alaska? My husband, daughter and I recently returned from a Holland-America cruise to Alaska, along with a large group of KMOX listeners. MORE
